1. Does RTRC conduct full time courses?
Currently, we conduct part time courses ranging from Certificate level to Master degree level. If you are keen in the full time course, please email us your name, contact information and the course that you are interested in to info@rtrc-asia.com so that we can keep you informed if we do conduct full time course of your choice.
2. Are your courses accredited?
Our certificate and diploma courses are accredited by MOE-MCYS Pre-School Qualification Accreditation Committee (PQAC). Please refer to our abovementioned table of courses that are under the respective accredited bodies.
3. How frequently are the classes held?
Our part time certificate and diploma courses are usually conducted on weekdays afternoons / evenings and weekends morning / afternoon. Class frequency ranges from 2 to 3 times per week.
The Bachelor and Master courses are conducted on the basis of 1 week of class sessions for each module. A typical class session schedule will be held from Monday to Friday evenings and in some degree programmes, it may be conducted on Saturdays, either half day or full day. For more information on the specific degree course, please refer to the respective course under academic programmes option.
4. Why is the duration of courses conducted in RTRC longer as compared to other centres?
In RTRC, our lessons are structured in such a way that the study pace is gradual and students will be able to absorb more effectively what they have learnt throughout their course.
5. What are the differences in the teaching method of RTRC and other training centres that conduct early childhood courses?
In RTRC, we adopt a hands-on approach in training our students. Students are given practical hands-on assignments so that the students are able to assimilate classroom knowledge into practical applications in their field of work.
In addition, we also have a team of multi-disciplinary training specialists with professional working experience in the early childhood field to train the students. Throughout the course, students will be given training from a variety of trainers who are specialized in training the different subjects of studies in the early childhood field.
6. What are the different types of funding that I can apply?
Company Sponsor
Our certificate and diploma courses are listed under funding for Skills Development Fund (SDF). You can apply for course fee funding through your company. For more information about SDF and their funding schemes, please log on to www.sdf.gov.sg In addition to course fee funding, your company can also apply for absentee payroll allowance for eligible employees. The rates of absentee payroll allowance will vary. For more information about SRP and their funding schemes, please log on to www.srp.org.sg
Employed Individuals (not under Company sponsor)
If you do not have your employer's support, you can still apply for funding under the NTUC Surrogate Employer Programme (NTUC-SEP). Please note that terms and conditions apply. For more information about NTUC-SEP, please log on to http://www.ntuc.org.sg/careertraining/funding_scheme.asp
7. If I'm working in a non-related field (not in early childhood), can I apply for the courses in RTRC?
Yes, as long as you meet the minimum entry criteria for the course that you are applying for, we will be able to accept your application. For self-sponsored applicants, we provide interest free monthly instalment plan for course fee payment.
